The building that houses Avalon Social is slated for the 2025 City of Pittsburgh Treasurer’s Sale after years of unpaid taxes totaling $40,269.43.

According to Monday’s newly launched Treasury Sale Map provided by Vridian, the South Side club, known for controversial viral videos, has not paid taxes in three years. The property at 1601 E. Carson Street is scheduled for the Treasurer’s Sale on July 18, 2025, at 10 a.m.

The property’s listed owner is 16th & Carson Street Partners LLC, one of several limited liability companies associated with AMPD Group, which has historically operated the venue. AMPD has shuttered its website and social media accounts over the past year. According to LinkedIn profiles, the company is now rebranding as RMG Brands, though its new website remains largely inactive.

The Allegheny County Real Estate Portal shows the property carries a total assessed value of $871,300, with the land valued at $233,500 and the building at $637,800. The substantial tax debt represents years of non-payment by the corporate entity.

The two-story dance club has operated under multiple names, including Foxtail and Diesel, with Skybar operating from a side entrance. The venue has long been known for crowds so unruly that police commonly shut down E. Carson Street in front of the establishment.

The club’s most notorious incident occurred in 2022 when a patron’s lewd vaginal stunt went viral on social media, prompting a voluntary shut down by the establishment. It reopened as Avalon Social in 2023.

Local business owners have voiced frustration with the club for years, claiming it has largely avoided nuisance bar enforcement actions that have been directed at smaller establishments. District 3 Councilman Bob Charland, who previously served as chief of staff to former Councilman Bruce Kraus, has been criticized for focusing enforcement efforts on smaller venues while allowing larger operators like AMPD (RMG) to continue largely unchallenged.

Despite the pending tax sale, it remains business as usual for the nightclub. On Sunday night, a large fight broke out in front of the club, leading to multiple arrests. While no injuries were reported, a parked police vehicle was struck by another car during the incident.

Avalon Social has events scheduled throughout the rest of the month.
