Residential parking permit costs will double to $40 annually beginning July 1, while visitor pass rates will jump from $1 to $10 under changes approved by Pittsburgh City Council.
The rate increases represent the first adjustment to parking permit fees since 2021. Council approved the new fee structure in December as part of the city’s 2025 budget process.
Current permit holders will pay the increased rates when they renew their permits on or after July 1. Renewal dates vary by neighborhood zone.
Among South Side Flats zones, KK permits expire Aug. 1, while CC and DD zone permits expire Jan. 1. Zone II permits expire April 1.
Violations carry fines up to $45, with citations mailed to vehicle owners. To obtain permits, residents must provide proof of residency, vehicle registration and a valid driver’s license.
Information about parking permits is available through the Pittsburgh Parking Authority at 412-560-2500 or online at the authority’s website.
