The Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office Nuisance Bar Task Force closed Da Kave, an nuisance bar operating in the Lincoln-Lemington neighborhood, on Tuesday, the DA’s office announced.
The club, at 1502 Lincoln Ave., sold alcohol without a license and was involved in multiple criminal incidents, including shots fired, fights, a reported sexual assault and firearm possession, according to a petition filed by investigators. The business also failed inspections by the Allegheny County Health Department, the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire and the city Department of Permits, Licenses and Inspections.
“After a long, concerning timeline of events, it is in the best interests of the community to cease the operations of this establishment,” District Attorney Stephen A. Zappala Jr. said. “It’s a very serious decision; however, the safety and security of neighbors, as well as the patrons and employees of the business, is our top priority.”
Two years of incidents
Pittsburgh police and other agencies responded to approximately eight incidents at the club between July 2024 and May 2026, all involving violence or disorderly conduct, according to the complaint in equity filed June 16. In one, police responding to a gunfire alert in October 2024 found a vehicle that had been shot at with two wounded women inside. In March of this year, a woman reported she believed she had been drugged and sexually assaulted after visiting the club.
During a February 2025 search warrant, investigators arrested the club’s owner, Ronald Wingfield, who the complaint alleges was carrying a firearm and suspected crack cocaine. Undercover liquor enforcement officers who paid cover charges to enter the club in 2025 and 2026 were served liquor and beer, and liquor code charges were filed against Wingfield in March 2025 and again in May 2026, according to the complaint.
The complaint asks the court to bar the business from operating for at least one year.
