Pittsburgh Regional Transit has begun installing more than 80 ReadyFare vending machines system-wide, with the rollout expected to wrap by late summer 2026.

Once operational, the machines will allow riders to purchase a ReadyFare card for $1. PRT will also mail postcards and send an email blast to registered ConnectCard users, notifying them they can request a card by mail — part of the agency’s yearlong “Ready? Set? Go!” campaign managing the transition between fare systems.

Riders already using the Ready2Ride mobile app need not take any action. The app runs on the same platform as ReadyFare and will continue working without changes.
