The Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC tapped Josh Kremers to lead their new USL League Two team Thursday, adding coaching duties with the first team as well.

Kremers has worked two years with the Riverhounds Academy as Boys Regional League Director, coaching teams at multiple age levels. The 33-year-old will guide Riverhounds 2 through its inaugural season while assisting the professional squad.

“Josh is a fantastic young coach who brings tremendous energy and enthusiasm to Riverhounds 2. We’re thrilled to have him leading this project and helping shape the next phase of our player development pathway,” Sporting Director Dan Visser said in the statement.

The new coach brings League Two credentials from FC Carolinas, where he directed youth programs and assisted both men’s and women’s teams. He also helped the Charlotte Eagles claim a 2017 League Two championship as an assistant coach.

Riverhounds 2 will compete in the Central Conference’s Great Forest Division. League officials plan to release the schedule later this month.
