The city’s Department of Public Works Environmental Services announced refuse and recycling collection will resume Monday, Feb. 2 after a week-long suspension caused by Sunday’s snowstorm.
Collections follow the regular schedule distributed to households and available online, according to a statement released by the mayor’s office Friday.
Garbage pickup returns to normal operations this week, with all households receiving service on their scheduled day.
Recycling collection, which operates on a biweekly basis, follows a split schedule. Households whose collection fell during the suspended period of Jan. 26-30 will receive their next pickup the week of Feb. 9. Residents scheduled for collection Feb. 2-6 will receive service on their regular day this week.
Residents can verify their next collection date by visiting Pgh.st and entering their address and zip code.
Environmental Services crews have requested residents clear and salt their collection areas to ensure safe access to bins. The precaution aims to prevent injuries and service delays as crews navigate icy conditions remaining from the storm.
