On August 25, 2025, The Pittsburgh Reporter published a story with the headline “WQED Considers Closure After Funding Collapse.”
At the request of WQED Multimedia, we have retracted that article. According to WQED, they have not considered closure nor engaged in contingency planning for a sale of its assets. WQED affirms its continued commitment to operations and service in Pittsburgh. No members of WQED’s Board of Directors spoke to The Pittsburgh Reporter in connection with our story.
