Re/Active, an activewear shop, has opened in South Side. Its timing is perfect for those looking to burn off the extra holiday calories. The thrift store focuses on giving new life to clothes and their wearers. From top to bottom, Re/Active has sports bras, sweatpants, and barely-used running shoes.

Hannah Webster, the entrepreneur behind the shop, described why she opened it in vivid color. South Side has a Goodwill, Salvation Army, and other specialty shops like the Red, White, and Blue. However, when it comes to activewear, she felt it was like finding a needle in a haystack to not only find an article of clothing but then ensure it fits. She addresses this issue with Re/Active.

Sportswear is the style of clothes you look forward to the fit changing on your journey. Some lose weight and discard them when they start swimming in them. Others aim to outgrow their clothes one whey protein shake at a time. Unlike other styles, the time the garments are used may be less than a month.

Webster reclaims and repurposes sportswear for both men and women at her humble shop off East Carson Street in South Side. Her selection is large enough to wrap any gym goals in stylish new drip. My suggestion: update your wardrobe before everyone else finds out about Re/Active in January.

ReActive is located at 80 S 15th St, Pittsburgh, PA 15203.
They are open Tuesday through Friday from 12 to 7 PM & Saturday 12 to 5 PM. Hours may adjust for the holidays.
