Join in the fun at the family-friendly annual Community Cornfest under the great oak trees at Carrick’s Phillips Park on Saturday, Aug. 23, from noon to 6 p.m.
Friends and neighbors are welcome to attend a day of musical entertainment for adults, with events and games for kids. Fresh corn and a wide array of food and refreshments will be on sale, as well as arts and crafts items from various nonprofits.
Traditional opening ceremonies will begin at noon with the award-winning Pittsburgh Carrick High School Marching Band. Entertainment will continue with:
- 12:15 p.m., Nepalese Dancers
- 12:45 p.m., Cathasaigh
- 2 p.m., Circle Three & Stationwagon
- 2:45 p.m., Bhutanese Dancers
- 3 p.m., Jimmy Adler’s 3 CAPA bands
- 5 p.m., Radiation

Local nonprofit organizations will provide a variety of food and refreshments during the entertainment. Information on a wide range of local resources and businesses will also be presented to help residents stay informed about what’s available and happening in their community.

Phillips Park is at the intersection of Parkfield and Spokane avenues, across the street from Carrick High School in Carrick. Parking is available in the Carrick High School lot.
