Fred Seddon and Mathilda Bauer Seddon, lifelong residents of the Hilltop area, will celebrate 65 years of marriage on Jan. 3. Fred worked at the J&L Steel Mill on South Side. He has been active in city politics for many years and pushed to have the streets of Arlington paved. He served as constable for the 16th Ward. Mathilda volunteered at Saint Henry School and Saint Francis Hospital. Their children are Fred Jr. of South Side; Gerald of Newburg, Ind.; Susan of Pleasant Hills; Claire of Carrick; Glenn of Chalfont; and Laurie of Arlington. They have eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
