Rob Frank, 37, of Mt. Washington has announced his candidacy for State Democratic Committee in the 42nd Senatorial District (areas represented by State Senator Wayne Fontana).
Mr. Frank currently serves as president of the South End Active Democrats. Most recently, he served as volunteer coordinator for the Young Voter Alliance, an organization that was recognized nationally for assisting in the high number of young people voting in the Pittsburgh area during the presidential election. He served as an administrative assistant to former Councilman Gene Ricciardi and currently works at Breachmenders, a nonprofit agency in West Oakland.
His involvement in nonprofits began at the age of 17, when he was appointed to the board of the Brookline Area Community Council. Since then, he has been involved with the Mt. Washington Community Development Corporation and Overbrook Community Council, and was a board member for the South Pittsburgh Economic Revitalization Team (SPERT).
Mr. Frank is the son of a retired Pittsburgh Press photographer and a lifelong resident of the area. He is a graduate of CCAC and has a degree in public administration from the University of Pittsburgh.
