The Brashear Association will be running an eight-week after-school art program in Allentown beginning Thursday, Jan. 26. The Allentown Arts Apprenticeship program will consist of fun art activities that allow students to explore painting, drawing, and clay.

Donna Hetrick, local owner of Fireborn Studios, certified art educator, and skilled clay artist, will be instructing the Allentown Arts Apprenticeship program. Ms. Hetrick’s instruction will focus on the creation of quality artwork within a comfortable, encouraging environment. All students are welcome to register, regardless of artistic ability or experience.

The Allentown Arts Apprenticeship program will run Thursdays, 4–6 p.m., Jan. 26 through March 16. Classes will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 731 Excelsior Street in Allentown. The program is open to children ages 10–13 and is entirely free of charge.

The Brashear Association is a United Way agency. The Arts Apprenticeship program receives support through Brashear’s NAP partnership with Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation, PNC Bank, and South Side Local Development Company.
